Cultural Celebrations

The Seahawks are proud to celebrate and recognize a number of causes throughout the year. Some of these include Pride Night, La Gente (Hispanic Heritage), Black History Month, Women in Sports Day, Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Deaf Awareness Month, and more.

In season, the Seahawks offered limited-edition collections at the Pro Shop in alignment with the above causes. 12% of the collection’s proceeds benefitted an organization or fund close to the cause. For example, we partnered with Muckleshoot Indian Tribe to design a Tribal Art collection which benefitted NAMI Seattle. The artwork was created to honor the Salish Sea: a core part of what the Seattle region represents to their people.

We also created awareness through our storytelling on social: developing content series’ for some of the above causes or integrating them into our other programs and activations. To celebrate La Gente, our “Happy Hour with the Hawks” visited a Baja Bistro (a minority-owned restaurant), and for Black History Month the team designed a “Decades Spotlight” series that highlighted Seahawks Legends who have amplified black voices through their work in the community. On Pride Night, we even had Seattle native Ross Mathews raise the 12 Flag.
